This professional development process provides an opportunity for schools to request training and/or support. The completed Request for Training Form is submitted to the professional development team and within 2-3 days the requestor will be contacted for a pre-meeting to discuss needs. This process has been effectively utilized to schedule regional meetings and a competency mapping workshop at several college campuses.

The Common Assessment Initiative (CAI) Professional Development Regional Meetings provide an opportunity to learn about how to implement CCCAssess at your campus. Information provided is applicable to faculty (English, ESL, math, reading, counseling), researchers, assessment center staff and coordinators, IT personnel and administrators.

Each meeting provides a general overview of the Common Assessment and updated information on implementation, platform, Multiple Measures, and competency mapping. Subject matter experts are on hand to present the information and address audience questions. Regional meetings are held throughout the state of California to maximize opportunities for college teams to attend. In 2016, there were 10 professional development regional meetings, ranging from the SF Bay Area, to Fresno and San Diego.

Upcoming Regional Professional Development Meetings:

In order to best utilize our available resources, the CAI Professional Development Regional Meeting scheduled for May 5th in Fresno has been canceled. Unfortunately, we did not meet expectations for rsvps from local colleges; understandably, sometimes the timing and location is not ideal for planned events. The professional development team is dedicated to supporting colleges in their implementation and transition to the Common Assessment, so please stay tuned for future opportunities.
